Quick Review: “Extraction” is a solid action film that delivers by the film’s name. Nothing special with the story but the action carry the film. I liked Chris Hemsworth’s performance including the kid in the film. The action was very well directed, especially for a directorial debut. I had a lot of fun. Unfortunately the character development was lacking in the main character. But for the kid, there was some character development at least which is good. Some of the side characters were okay and nothing special or outstanding. But the long take action sequence was amazing and my favorite part from the film. It’s a fun film just to kick off, each chips and watch bloody action. If you want to turn your brain off, this is the film you want to see. Nothing but good action. Now Streaming on Netflix. Colin Farrell. © 2021/2022. A24. Directed by Kogonada. Review: Sometimes, life can change you in unexpected ways, even through a human robot. It could be guilt, forgiveness, or joy. Many emotions play in this film and it's done beautifully well. "After Yang" is a beautifully well made film that deals with technology and how us humans get attached to technology. It's a emotional film and it's Kogonada best film to date after his directorial debut, "Columbus" (2017).
The story centers around a father played by Colin Farrell who is trying to save a human robot with the help of her wife and daughter. The film mainly focuses around the father, daughter and the robot because they are connected well to the human robot. Along the way, the father learns new things about the human robot, humanity and self-guilt along the way. Colin Farrell is fantastic in the film. There's not enough dialogue in the film but the way he's acting in the film was amazing. All of his emotions are shown through small words and actions towards the robot. He rethinks himself of life again through the final act and see that a human robot can feel emotional like the real human beings. The little girl played by Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja did a great job as well. She didn't do much in the film but she was good in the film. Justin H. Min as Yang the human robot did a great job on capturing the human robot emotions and how these robots acted. The supporting cast did a good job in the story. The production design is fantastic in the film and captures the near future of America. The Visual effects felt very real and it could get some nominations for next year's award. The writing is very well done and captures emotions and lessons so the viewer can understand what's going on through these characters. The cinematography is still fantastic and beautiful. Similar to Columbus, every shot feels like a art painting and captures meaning. It feels like Ex-Machina but the film isn't as dark you thought. It's more like "Minority Report" but without any action sequences. It's more heavy dialogue and heavy visuals. The tea scene was my favorite part alongside the credit dancing sequence. I thought this film wasn't going to be that futuristic, it's still a futuristic film with shots showing a huge city and advanced glasses technology. It's a weird yet deep film about humanity and technology. It's a slow burn film but the pacing was well balanced and kept the drama going throughout the film. The ending is pretty sad yet rewarding for the father. Overall, this film brought many questions and answers to humanity and how society is so deep with technology. Also, I'm happy they brought back Haley Lu Richardson in the film. She was great in "Columbus". The film can drag in some scenes. The mother played by Jodie Turner-Smith didn't do as much in the film unfortunately but she was still great in the film. I thought we could've seen more of the city and the future but they hid it kind of poorly, especially one shot with the fish tank. Felt little cheap to me. Or it could be the Sundance servers. But that's all the nitpicks because this film was fantastic. Absolutely you should check it out. It's already the best film of 2022 and A24 has another banger in their hands. It's a beautiful film from start to finish. Thank you Sundance for providing this film. Coming soon to Theaters in March 2022. Vizeit Score: "A" Copyright © 2022. Vizeit Studios. All Rights Reserved. Review: Ghostface comes back and kills some bitches on the way and get drunk as fuck. Loved the film and this shit was funny yet emotional. It’s a horror ride and you will not be disappointed. Unless your the killer.
This film is very bloody and fun as hell. While it’s not very bloody like “Halloween Kills”, it’s still very bloody and there’s very good kills. The horror was well build up in certain sequences especially the second house scene with one of the high schoolers. Without any spoilers, that entire scene was great and it makes fun of jump-scares and build up but they do it anyway because why not. It’s very funny and scary. The action was very good and there’s very bloody kills along the way. Im happy that kept the slasher style in the film and balanced between horror and action. The cinematography is a huge step up from the latest entry and some shots felt very cinematic. The hospital scene was very cinematic with its tone and color grading. There’s a lot of creative shots and overall, it’s a well shot horror film. Not a lot of horror films dedicate to the cinematography and this one passes. The score was good but nothing special. It build up tension which was very effective. The cast was very good. The legacy characters were amazing as well. While they didn’t get a lot of screen time, the ending gave them a lot and they got to shine once again. I loved the legacy characters. The new characters were great as well. I liked the relationship between these new characters to the old characters. The main character was very good and she has a huge connection to one certain character from the original. I won’t spoil but it’s a huge one. The other characters were good as well. Jack Quaid was the standout in the film including Jenna Ortega. They were great and they got a chance to shine. Everyone did great in the film. The story is pretty much the same but different in many ways. Legacy characters are involved and there’s many connections to the original film. Old secrets come back and haunt the new and old characters. No spoilers but the story is very well executed. The pacing was very good and it didn’t ruin the suspense. I liked the Easter eggs in the film and the social commentary of current horror films. They make fun of modern horror films and references new films like “Hereditary”, “It Follows”, and “Get Out”. It’s very clever and well executed. The ending was the best part in any scream film and the opening was very good. I had so much fun watching it and it’s the best since the original. The film can drag at some points in the film. Some characters were just there for kill counts which was disappointing. You still got the cliche horror elements but they make fun of it. Some can be repetitive. Some dumb character decisions in the film that led to death. And that’s all the nit pick things. Wow. This film was very fun. I loved this film and I might pick it up on Blu-Ray. Go watch it before you get spoiled because there’s many secrets and major deaths in the film that will piss you off. Loved it and I can’t wait for the next film. Now Playing in Theaters. Vizeit Score: “A-” Copyright © 2022. Vizeit Studios. All Rights Reserved. Review: “The Tragedy of Macbeth” is really a tragedy of a good film. Filled with fantastic cinematography and a great cast, it’s a very well made film. Right away, the cinematography is beautiful. Every frame is perfectly crafted and shot well. Many shots stand well and there’s a lot of shots that looked straight out from a painting. I loved the black and white used in the film mixed with the VFX. It’s seamless. The transitions are smooth and just very seamless. It flows very well. The production design is great and the costume design is amazing. The costumes look straight out from a play and I liked how it was true to the theatre design. It’s a play within a film. The 4:3 aspect ratio was amazing and better then “Passing” on how it was utilized. Felt like a IMAX presentation. And it may not be exactly be 4:3 because certain shots felt very IMAX 70mm. Loved the aspect ratio used in this film. The technical and production design is very well crafted and stays true to the theatre production design. But now within a film. The characters are very good as well. Denzel Washington was very great in the film as well as the supporting cast. While I’m not a huge Shakespeare guy, I still understand the story with the help of the visuals. You can get lost because of the dialogue but the visuals help a lot. Everyone did a great job and got a chance to shine their performance. You can get easily lost in the film because of the Shakespeare dialogue. It’s a Shakespeare story. Not easy to follow. Some of the characters were undeveloped or not utilized well. Certain death scenes weren’t impactful especially a certain important character. Some story elements didn’t quite work out and the pacing can be slow sometimes but it picks it up. It’s a much different film and I liked that this film can be accessible to modern audiences. While some won’t enjoy it, it’s a sure surprise that the visuals are outstanding. I enjoyed this film and the ending was pretty impactful with a nice concluding ending. While some story elements didn’t quite work out, I still followed the story and understood why these certain characters did these actions. It’s a well crafted film from start to finish. Review: Cowboy Cinema is still going strong. This film was a pleasant surprise. I liked the feeling of this film and brings back good old western vibes. It’s a solid film from beginning to end. The cast is very great in the film. From Jonathan Majors to Idris Elba, everyone gave it their all and their performances were fun. The standout from the cast was one of the younger cowboy’s in the good side and their performances were hilariously good. The story was pretty solid and it got the job done. The intro was pretty good setting up the main character. I liked the relationship between Nate Love and Stagecoach Mary. It wasn’t forced and their was purpose to the story. Every character gets their moment and time to shine and it was well balanced. I loved that. The violence and action sequences were very fun to watch and hella fun. Bloody, gory, and goofy. The perfect dose. There’s some typical clichés but they use it as a joke or pay homage to old western films. I liked the run off joke of a draw off and it paid off in a satisfying way. The cinematography is solid. The production is very great and the pacing was consistent. No fall offs that felt left out or extended scenes. Felt very fluid. This film has a great score and great original songs. I liked the plot twist in the end and it made the story and conflict way better and the ending opens a new door to a sequel if possible. It’s a solid film overall. While I had fun with this film, this film comes with its faults. The villain played by Idris Elba was pretty lacking with his motivations and why he is doing it in the first place. I didn’t find him that compelling until the final act. You still got your typical Western clichés but I felt it was normally used. The storyline kind of feel flat in some parts to keep up with the conflict with the final act. Especially the banking scene. Some dumb choices by the characters that lead them to their death. Little story issues there and there. But overall, it’s a fun western film that is based on true people and the story is completely fictional. I enjoyed this film and I want more these types of film to be released.
